“I am committed to the primary principles of the United States. You can find these principles in the Declaration of Independence: ‘Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.’  This means that every Texan has the right to: LIVE, BE FREE and OWN PROPERTY

Elite politicians only offer voters two choices; Big Government, and Bigger Government. America needs another choice: true limited government.  The following outlines the concepts and legislation supported by Autry. This document maybe updated as new information becomes available.

Whether spending time with your family, worshiping God, or running your business, how you spend your time is up to you.  You are only limited by your imaginations and one small caveat— you cannot harm others.”

The purpose of the U.S. Constitution, as written, is to protect life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Politicians and the courts regularly abandon principles found in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, this must stop.

The Federal Government currently owns 80% of all public land and over 135,000 vacant structures.  Autry is calling for the immediate auction of all unused vacant structures and the return of any public land to the States (exceptions will be made for National Monuments and Military structures).  All funds raised for this purpose will be used to pay down the National Debt.

The Federal Government must develop and maintain a premium state of the art transportation system (i.e. highways, waterways, rail and air).  Where possible, government should relinquish control of such systems to the private market.

Thanks to the business friendly economic climate of Texas, oil, gas and wind industries have made America energy independent and the world’s leading energy producer.  Texas leads the way among American energy producers. Congress must continue deregulation of these job creating juggernauts while maintaining and upgrading  ports, bridges, and roads.

Autry is pro-life. Autry supports freedom of association and is a 100% supporter of religious liberty.  Autry supports making English the official language of the United States. Autry supports the complete elimination of the Department of Housing and Urban Development (with Fair Housing moving to the Department of Justice) and all allocated federal money for housing returning to the States.

An America that gives us  over 1000 deodorant options can certainly provide more than 1 type of school system.  Autry proposes that the federal government return all educational power to parents and local communities by terminating FedEd (Department of Education). The current Secretary of Education would become “Special Advisor to the President for Education” and that individual's office will be responsible for statistical assessment and information gathering only.
The United States must continue to be a sovereign nation with complete control of our borders, language, and culture.  The United States must defend liberty at home by maintaining the most powerful military in the world.  The United States must not enter into any additional agreements that will require the expense of dollars or the  sacrifice of American blood on foreign soil.  Autry will support the following:
  • “Safe Military Bases Act.”  This enables American soldiers to protect themselves while on military property.
  • A Defense Budget which will accommodate, 2 simultaneous Major Regional Contingencies:
  • 50 Army Brigade Combat Teams
  • 350 Navy Ships
  • 1300 Air Force Fighters
  • 40 Marine Battalions
  • A complete repeal of any and all Foreign Aid, unless needed for national defense/security reasons.

Autry is a 100% supporter of our Second Amendment right to individually collect and bear arms. Similar to speech, press or the practice of religion, government must meet a heavy burden in order  to strip away any citizens guns.

Autry supports constitutional carry.  Autry encourages everyone to read, The Great New Orleans Gun Grab.

After Katrina, New Orleans  leaders turned their crosshairs and iron sights toward the lawful, gun-toting citizens who sought nothing more than to defend themselves from the marauding hordes. In what proved to be the greatest real-life test of the Second Amendment in American history, America failed miserably. This is the  story of New Orleans residents who legally defied mandatory evacuation orders to protect their property, and who were subsequently beaten, harassed and robbed of their guns by the very civil authority that was funded and charged to protect them. America’s problem isn’t the price of health insurance, it is the price of health care. Patient centered care means patients must have real choices. Government control of health insurance must end.  Specifically: (a) most Americans do not have cash-on-hand to pay out-of-pocket medical expenses; (b) employer's have too much control over health-insurance; and, (c) there is not enough competition among doctors and/or insurance companies. There are many free-market solutions available in the marketplace which will drive down the cost of health care. Health care will be more affordable if at minimum:
  • Basic medical needs (shots, prescriptions, check-ups, exams etc…) are met through a direct  “primary-care” subscription model  (for example see:;
  • Permit, pre-tax, Health Savings Accounts up to $25,000 per wage-earner or child annually (HSA are used for any medical procedures including insurance and are FDIC protected);
  • Develop a multi-state licensing system for insurance companies and doctors; thus, allowing competition across state lines and telemedicine;
  • Permit State and/or Federal governments to “buy out” patent protection (decreasing the allotted time drugs can go generic).
  • Permit any corporation, association, entity or groups of individuals to negotiate as a group;
  • Eliminate all “certificate of need” laws;
  • Patients must litigate against doctors only when there is real negligence or gross incompetence;
  • Patients with pre-existing conditions unable to find a charity hospital (approx. 180k people) may enroll in Medicaid;
  • Patient centered care means patients must have real choices; Medicaid must be transitioned to a voucher based system. End government managed health insurance.
  • U.S. veterans may receive care from any private or public hospital completely free of charge, eliminate the VA hospitals.
  • Medicare will remain; however, if free market solutions above are passed by Congress then Medicare will naturally phase out over time.
Autry is 100% against illegal immigration. Illegal immigration must be resisted through the building of a wall where necessary and the deployment of modern technology, similar to Asian and Nordic countries, which will detect and eliminate Visa holdovers.  Immigrants and potential citizens must be given time to acclimate to American values, culture and language. Autry supports:
  • All immigrants must, by oath,  pledge 100% loyalty to the United States of America;
  • Immigrants, prior to becoming citizens, must demonstrate a  working 6th grade knowledge of spoken and written English (see:;
  • Immigrants, before entry and before naturalization, (including those seeking asylum status), must be able to either: (1) fully support themselves; or (2) find a state, locality, citizen, charity and/or corporation willing and able to provide full financial support for a period of 10 years (eliminate “pay-back” provisions) (see:;
  • Immigration entry is limited to 1,500,000 persons per year; and, grants of citizenship to 500,000;
  • Immigrants, age 18 years or older, convicted of felonies (not misdemeanors), including unlawful entry, have a lifetime ban on travel to the United States for any reason;
  • Employers who employ more than 1 individual are required to use “E-Verify”;
  • United States citizens have the right to be employed first by any firm hiring in the United States; employers must make  every attempt to hire American citizens first;
  • No foreign entity or individual may hold more than 40% of the controlling or voting shares of any public American corporation. (see:
Social-Security is NOT welfare; it is YOUR money which was supposed to be saved for later in life. Elite politicians “borrowed” money from Social Security Funds to prop-up other insolvent government programs.  According to the annual trustee report published on July 14, 2017, Social Security Reserves will be completely bankrupt in approximately 15 years. Autry will propose legislation to solve this problem immediately. Autry supports:
  • The creation of individual, tax-free, wage-earner social security accounts at a financial/brokerage institution of the wage-earner’s choice (with FDIC insurance protection);
  • Restrict banker’s management of taxpayer social security accounts to only low and moderate-risk investments;
  • Prohibit government from borrowing money from or against individual social security accounts;
  • Permit current beneficiaries and those older than 55 to remain in the current system;
  • Wage-earner Social Security accounts are tax free and may be passed on to friends or family.

Government does not have a revenue problem, but a spending problem--we keep spending your money. You would have to spend $4.5M per a day, since the birth of Christ, to equal the $3.5 Trillion the federal government collects in just 1 year.  Autry supports a series of statutes and constitutional amendments which will govern how elite politicians spend taxpayer funds. Autry will propose the following laws and constitutional amendments:
  • A law requiring zero-based budgeting for all branches and departments of  the Federal government;
  • A law eliminating the “use it or lose it” budget provision;
  • A law which directs the entire Federal Government to use General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP);
  • A law which permits the dismissal of any federal employee without cause for a payment equal to 1 year’s salary or $200,000 whichever is less;
  • A law  requiring each agency or Federal Department to outsource the auction of any unused equipment or structures to the highest bidder;
  • A law completely eliminating unfunded state mandates;
  • A law capping the total number of federal workers, not including active or reserve military, to no more than 1.5 million; and, capping the amount of taxpayer dollars spent on wages and benefits, excluding military, direct or indirect to no more than $500 billion; (
  • An amendment limiting national spending to $12K per citizen in peacetime; $24K per citizen in war time; and,
  • An amendment which ceases all current debt spending and institutes a national debt ceiling limit of  12K per citizen.  Further, excess revenue must be first used to pay down the national debt and then returned to the taxpayer.
Collectively, these laws and amendments will: (a) keep government cost low, allowing you to keep more of your money; (b) ensure government employees who refuse to serve the taxpayer maybe immediately terminated (think VA); (c) place a permanent debt ceiling cap (currently, we have a FAKE cap which Congress raises arbitrarily).  Setting fixed and hard-limits will keep your money in YOUR pocket.
The government must put job creation and the protection of small businesses and private property first--these three items, in concert, are the lifeblood of the American economy. Small businesses are the true job creators. Texas, amongst others, has proven reasonable (less-burdensome) regulations creates jobs and increases wages.  Work builds confidence, improves mental health, and instills a sense of community. Autry will propose the following pieces of legislation:
  • A law permitting any individuals, regardless of wealth, to invest in any private or public company;
  • A law requiring initial IPO prices to be available to common individuals who agree to hold stock for 6 months;
  • A law requiring that private property taken through regulation is the same as property taken through physical seizure;
  • A law requiring that private property, taken by eminent domain is subject to a civil proceeding with a “trial by jury”;
  • An amendment stating that private property taken through eminent domain may not be transferred to a private entity;
  • An amendment requring any regulatory confiscation, fine and/or penalty, including for tax matters, on any single business or individual may not exceed $1,000 per a year without a “trial by jury” where the government has the burden of proof (see:
